Rain International Nature Film Festival (RINFF)

The Rain International Nature Film Festival (RINFF) serves as a global platform to unite ecologically conscious filmmakers, showcasing their works to raise awareness about pressing environmental issues. This festival not only celebrates creative storytelling but also fosters a deeper understanding of nature and conservation.

The inaugural edition of RINFF was held from January 25th to 27th, 2019, in Munnar, Kerala, and was followed by the second edition from January 24th to 26th, 2020, at Kumarakom, near the famed Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary in Kerala. These events attracted participants and delegates from around the world, featuring exceptional films centered on the beauty and challenges of the natural world.

In 2021, the festival transitioned to a virtual platform due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the third edition held online on January 29th to 31st. By 2022, RINFF returned to an in-person format, hosting its 4th edition at CMS College, Kottayam, on March 11th and 12th. The 5th edition, held at Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha, on March 23rd and 24th, 2023, continued the tradition with resounding success.

The sixth edition, held in Kattappana, Kerala on December 4th and 5th, 2024, has now concluded. This edition continued the festival’s tradition of showcasing exceptional films that provoke thought and inspire environmental stewardship, uniting global talent to address pressing ecological issues through cinematic excellence.

Global Platform for Environmental Storytelling

RINFF unites international filmmakers to showcase nature-focused films (features, shorts, documentaries) with competitions and awards, fostering dialogue on environmental issues.

Rich Festival History and Evolution
